Cloud Cover Rebellion Roads Headlines Three New IPAs at Catawba BrewingFrom Catawba:

Catawba Brewing kicks off their AVL Beer Week 2018 lineup with the second release in their Cloud Cover Hazy IPA Series. Rebellion Roads (8.2 percent ABV) is slated to make landfall on Saturday, May 26, exclusively at Catawba’s four tasting rooms – draft and 4-pack 16oz cans. Brewed at their 10-barrel Charlotte brewhouse, Rebellion Roads is available for a very limited time.

Each release in the Cloud Cover Series is named for a historic weather event in the Carolinas. Rebellion Roads refers to the site of a notorious tropical cyclone that sunk five ships off the coast of South Carolina in the year 1761.

Rebellion Roads is brewed with flaked wheat and oats, and three New Zealand hop varieties – Nelson Sauvin, Pacifica, and Motueka. Tasting notes include orange marmalade, lime zest, and hop resin.

SMALL BATCH:

Catawba taps a Brett IPA (5.7 percent ABV) on Thursday, May 24, at all locations. Hopped with a citrus-forward blend of Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo, it was fermented entirely with Brettanomyces, lending a healthy dose of barnyard funk.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION:

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, Catawba releases their AVL Beer Week IPA (7.0 percent ABV). Brewed in Asheville, this West Coast-style IPA is a special collaboration with two Argentinian breweries, Cerveza Beata and Cerveza Güira. The beer is a reinterpretation of Güira’s award-winning Bomber IPA. A portion of proceeds from AVL Beer Week IPAs will benefit the Asheville Brewers Alliance.
