BrewDog Gains Approval For Australian Brewery

BrewDog Gains Approval For Australian BreweryFrom BrewDog:

Last time we updated you guys on our progress in Queensland, we had secured a kick-ass location for our adventures down under. The plans for BrewDog Australia had been filed and we were looking forward to the local council in Brisbane checking it out and giving it the thumbs up. That was two months ago, and this past Tuesday the guys in city hall did just that. The news is real; our riverfront brewery in Murarrie is good to go.

Brisbane – we are locking in dates to start construction in mid-July.

We’re super psyched that the authorities in Queensland have given their support to what we are planning for the people of Australia – their green light means we can now begin the six-month project to build a brewery on the banks of the Murarrie. With a couple of months to then dial in the new brewhouse, BrewDog beer is set to follow for everyone who has supported us so far.

This is a huge thing for us – having freshly-brewed craft beer on hand for our legion of supporters in Australia is going to be amazing. Our facility in eastern Brisbane will have a DogTap and restaurant on site so that the people of the area can enjoy what we do, metres from where the beer is made. With the timeline we are working to, we hope to have everything up and running in the first quarter of next year!

To start with we’ll be rocking our core beers in Queensland – so any of you who are fans of brewery-fresh Punk IPA, you only have a few months to wait to enjoy it! Our Australian brewing crew will also be dialling in a series of small-batch brews with local ingredients, adding local flavour and a true Aussie spin on classic beer styles from around the world.

Speaking of which, our longest-standing brewer Franz has been over recently working on our Australian Collaboration Series in partnership with Beer & BBQ Fest. We rocked a series of collab brewdays with Mismatch Brewing Co in Adelaide, Green Beacon in our hometown of Brisbane, Batch Brewing Co in Sydney, Capital Brewing in Canberra, and Hop Nation in Melbourne. The beers will be released at Beer & BBQ fest in Sydney on the 29th June – 1st July, and Adelaide on the 6th - 8th July!

We can’t wait to break ground on our brewery in Brisbane and begin to reward the incredible support we have received from the local community there. The craft beer scene in Australia is something we are hugely proud to be a part of, and as we begin construction of our new home there in July you can keep updated by following BrewDog Australia on Instagram and Facebook.

Australia – who’s thirsty?
