BrewDog Collaborates With 7 Breweries On Eight-Bit NEIPA

BrewDog Collaborates With 7 Breweries On Eight-Bit NEIPAFrom BrewDog:

The day before our annual #PunkAGM is the calm before the storm. Many of our crewmembers head to the AECC in Aberdeen to set up, take stock and prepare the bars and beers for the mother of all parties taking place 24 hours later. Those at the brewery however continue with all guns blazing. This year we figured that as we had seven of the hottest craft breweries in the UK and US invited to our AGM we should also invite them to Ellon and do what we all do best. Brew an amazing collaborative beer.

So we did. That beer is Eight-Bit – and it launches today.

When you join forces with the guys from Cloudwater, DEYA, Magic Rock, Northern Monk, Stillwater, The Bruery and Seventh Son there’s really only one style on the table. It’s a no-brainer. These are some of the masters of the New England-style IPA anywhere on the planet right now, so we set about creating the ultimate version. An East Coast IPA brewed in the North-East Coast of Scotland.

To reflect the fellowship we had gathered together, each of the eight breweries selected a hop to go onto the brewsheet. Magnum, Mandarina Bavaria, Chinook, Hallertaur Blanc, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic and German Comet made the grade (feel free to try and match brewery to hop if you are playing along at home). We also tapped out the beer at 8% ABV and packaged it in an epic 500ml can!

As a result, Eight-Bit is a juice machine. Packed with stone fruit, tropical notes, citrus peel and bags of fresh and grassy aromas, the biggest collaboration we have ever done has resulted in a classic full-bodied bittersweet pale ale. With the addition of orange peel into the brew the fruit-led flavours come out even more, but as the style requires everything is balanced and hugely drinkable.

Eight-Bit is live in our online shop right now and will be pouring from the taps of our UK Bars from 6pm tonight, Thursday 3rd May. It is a beer we had a fantastic time creating with seven of the hottest breweries around – if you ever wanted proof that the phrase ‘too many cooks’ is utter nonsense, then here it is. Collaborations rule.

And if there are any other breweries we should hook up with, let us know!
