The Return of PB&J Headlines 7 New Beers at Catawba Brewing This WeekFrom Catawba:

Peanut Butter Jelly Time (5.7 percent) returns to the menu at Catawba Brewing on Friday, March 2. A light brown ale with a touch of wheat in its malt bill provides the bready base for the star ingredients – real raspberry puree and whole roasted North Carolina peanuts. The brewery’s most popular Specialty Series beer, PB&J will be available on draft and in 4-pack 16oz cans. Find it at all four Catawba tasting rooms, the Palmetto Brewing tasting room in Charleston, and in 5-state distribution.

For the first time ever, the Peanut Butter Jelly Time release party will introduce four specialty variations of the beer. PB&J flavors will include Concord Grape, Blackberry, Strawberry-Rhubarb, and a mystery version. These Small Batch beers were brewed in Catawba’s Asheville and Charlotte brewhouses, and will be available in their tasting rooms and in very limited distribution. A special PB&J flight will be offered exclusively in Catawba tasting rooms while supplies last.

SMALL BATCH:

Catawba taps an Australian Pale Ale (5.6 percent ABV) on Thursday, March 1, available at all four locations. The beer was hopped entirely with Galaxy – a hop of Australian origins that provides refreshing notes of passion fruit and citrus. In Asheville tasting rooms, $1 from each pint of Australian Pale Ale will be donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of WNC. The public is invited to Catawba’s South Slope location at 6pm on the release day for a fundraiser event hosted by the non-profit.

Also on Friday, March 2, Catawba releases their Friki Tiki Kiwi IPA (6.5 percent ABV). The latest in a monthly series of fruited IPAs features a tropical hop profile, enhanced by an addition of tart, juicy kiwi fruit.
