LONGMONT, CO ., Dec. 27, 2017- The CAN'd Aid Foundation, known for its Towns, Tunes, Treads + Trails and Love Yur Mama efforts, is proud to announce its cumulative do-goodery efforts. In 2017 alone, more than 4,725 volunteer hours were logged and $1,050,000 was raised in support of CAN'd Aid's programs that positively impact local communities nationwide.

"It's been an incredible year for CAN'd Aid and we're proving that "people powered do-goodery" is a unique and effective way to make a big impact," says Executive Director Diana Ralston. "From donating cans of clean drinking water to areas ravaged by disasters, to seeing a child's face light up at the site of their brand-new bike, volunteers and partners have helped us spread the do-goodery to more communities in 2017 than ever before."

To date, CAN'd Aid contributions include:

TOWNS - building strong communities

  • 1,024,641 cans of clean drinking water donated to communities in need post disaster. CAN'd Aid teamed up with Oskar Blues Brewery and the Ball Corporation to can, ship and distribute water

  • $950,000 donated to help communities rebuild post disaster and more than 4,725 volunteer hours logged. This includes extensive work in hurricane damaged regions of Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico

TUNES - for your eyeholes and earholes

  • 352 musical instruments (guitars, tubas, trumpets, pianos, banjos) donated to public schools throughout the U.S.

  • Hosted 11 music workshops to help foster the next generation of musicians. TUNES Ambassadors from national bands including the Steep Canyon Rangers, the Wooks and Sunsquabi provided hands on music lessons for public school students

  • Through Send Me a Friend, 527 friends registered to support touring musicians in need of sober support while on the road and at gigs. To date, 32 struggling artists have been served

TREADS + TRAILS - get outside and get after it

  • Built and donated 1,514 bikes for underprivileged children in communities around the US. CAN'd Aid engages local communities and brands to build bikes and help provide the opportunity to get out and ride

  • Built 63 partnerships that encourage people to explore the outdoors. CAN'd Aid is proud to work with the Colorado Mountain Club, Sk8-Strong, the Boys & Girls Club and numerous local organizations nationwide to provide outdoor opportunities for marginalized youth

  • Built 12 trails in partnership with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Woodstock Area Mountain Bike Association and the Friends of DuPont Forest

LOVE YUR MAMA - save the blue marble

  • Recycled 577,621 lbs of waste through the Crush It Crusade, which partners with communities to help launch sustainable recycling programs

  • Hosted 7 river cleanups in Colorado, Texas, Michigan and North Carolina

  • Planted 5,200 trees to help restore eroded riverbeds
