Creature Comforts Releasing Table Beer In Oct

Creature Comforts Releasing Table Beer In OctExciting canned beer release news coming from Creature Comforts Brewing in Athens, GA:

We will release our next seasonal, Table Beer, on draft and in 12oz cans this October! The beer was designed specifically to enjoy with food, family, and friends. This beer was released last Fall under the name Epicurious.

“The idea of a Table Beer is not new, and in fact it is practically the genesis for beer,” says our Co-founder and CEO Chris Herron. “Our goal was to design a beer that serves as a complement to food rather than a distraction – something unpretentious, that is meant to simply be enjoyed with friends around the dinner table.”

In order to accomplish the intent of the chef-inspired brew, we sought some insight from a number of the top chefs in Athens and Atlanta to gather feedback throughout the process of bringing the beer to market.  Ryan Smith, Executive Chef of Atlanta’s Staplehouse and Peter Dale, Executive Chef and Owner of Athens’ The National, were two of the top local and regional chefs that helped us out by providing our brewers with perspective on the beer when it was originally brewed in 2016.

“I love the approach Creature Comforts has created with this beer. The idea of a food-focused table beer is very attractive to a chef,” said Smith. “It’s an incredibly versatile beer that will work with a wide variety of food. It has a little salinity, and slight pepper note, which makes it so approachable.”

“When I drink Table Beer I imagine myself at an all-day, family-style gathering with a big spread of food,” said Dale. “Relaxed, casual, communal and in the moment.”

Table Beer is refreshing, versatile, and approachable. It is highly carbonated with an invigorating minerality to help cleanse the palate in between bites of food & has an ABV of 4.2%, which also contributes to the beer’s food-friendly nature. Table Beer’s earthy, floral and soft citrus hop character is balanced by complex Belgian yeast flavors and subtle bitterness on the finish. The rustic grains and flaked oats used lend to a nice grain flavor and firm mouthfeel.
The beer's former name of "Epicurious" was changed for legal reasons. But we felt the new name of "
Table Beer" encompasses the style of the beer and ties into the inspiration and intent of the brew.
We originally worked with Athens artist Bryn Rouse to design the Epicurious can artwork, which we re-used for our Table Beer cans. The artwork depicts culinary themes, representative of the beer's harmonious qualities.

Table Beer will follow Automatic Pale Ale in the brewery’s seasonal line-up. The beer will be available both in the Athens and Atlanta markets as well as on-site at Creature Comforts. For a more in-depth look, check out our video below!
