This morning we get to see a returning beer with an updated name coming from Shipyard Brewing in Portland, ME. This is Prelude Winter Warmer and it is the new name for the former Prelude Special Ale. First brewed in Dec 1993, this beer will remain at 6.7%-AbV and you are looking at the 12oz bottle for 2017 release. Stay tuned for more info and here is the commercial description from Shipyard:
Prelude is a rich, nutty, full-bodied English ale with an inviting amber hue and hoppy finish.
This non-spiced winter warmer has a big malt presence, in both flavor and body. With an ABV of 6.7%, this seasonal specialty has a strong nutty malt flavor that’s balanced by the subtle hop notes and hints of chocolate.
Prelude is named after the Kennebunkport Prelude Christmas Festival which was started in 1982 and takes place annually in Kennebunkport, Maine; the birthplace of Shipyard Brewing Company.
