New Glarus Reveals R&D 1870s Sour Porter & Abtsolution

imageFrom New Glarus:

R&D reveal! Two Historic brews! First- Dan’s personal favorite the 1870s Sour Porter! Black floor malted barley spontaneously fermented into luxuriously smooth sour. Oak aging lends a toasted finish to this historic beer revival. Second- a friendly Wisconsin- Belgium collaboration. Abtsolution! Brewmasters Dan and Dirk Naudts of De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi explore the Belgian ABT style. Wisconsin weighed in with Santium and Chinook hops. Happy cows contributed milk lactose to impart the velvety smoothness of this dark ale. Both ales are designed to enjoy today, or will evolve beautifully over next 1-2 years if you are that patient.

The R&D release will be Friday and Saturday, June 9&10. There will be a new later release time! 10 a.m! Price increase! $15 per bottle! Daily limits 4 R&D Sour Porters and/or 2 Abtsolutions per person. Remember your valid Drivers License, it is required and is non negotiable. Due to construction, parking will be at the bottom of the hill. Finally, there will be food! Kennedy’s will be frying donut holes and Franks Franks will bring their tasty buns and dogs both Friday and Saturday. Stay and enjoy an evening of Polka Fest in the Village. Sorry, Saturday’s Beer Bacon Cheese Event is completely sold out.
