Limited Bottle Release:

Catawba Brewing will release 22oz bottles of Red Rhum Barrel-Aged IPA (7.5 percent ABV) at noon on Saturday, March 25, at their South Slope location. Red Rhum is Catawba’s first ever specialty bottle release from their long-running Barrel Program. This 2016 vintage REDiculous Red IPA was aged for eight months in Flor de Caña Nicaraguan rum barrels. It was then dry-hopped, producing bright citrus notes to complement its rich molasses, vanilla, and oak. The beer is a collaboration with a popular rhum bar on the South Slope. (Note: The Red Rhum release was previously scheduled for March 18, but was rescheduled due to a weather delay.)

Limited Can Release:

Catawba’s South Atlantic Hops Pale Ale (5.5 percent ABV) shares its name with the South Atlantic Hops Conference, held at Asheville’s Crowne Plaza Resort, March 24-25. The beer was made with all North Carolina ingredients sourced from Epiphany Craft Malt and Cardinal Pine Hops Farm. Try it at the conference, or for a limited time in Catawba tasting rooms – on draft and in 6-pack cans – beginning Friday, March 24.

Small Batch Release:

Catawba taps its Vienna Lager (5.6 percent ABV) on Thursday, March 23, at all Catawba tasting rooms. This beer is a throwback to the world’s first pale lager, brewed with authentic Old World ingredients, using lightly kilned malts to lend copper color and a delicate bready flavor profile. Light in body, its subtle sweetness is balanced by the herbal earthy notes of Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, finishing crisp and clean.
