Kansas City brewery named ‘Official Craft Beer’ of the Kansas City Royals

February 1, 2017 – Kansas City – Two iconic Kansas City organizations today announced the renewal and expansion of an unprecedented partnership. In what is believed to be the single most important and far-reaching sponsorship of a major league sports team by an American specialty brewer, the Kansas City Royals have designated Boulevard Brewing Company as their “Official Craft Beer” partner. Building on the enormously popular Craft & Draft section, new Boulevard experiences in the Diamond Club, the View Level and a right field “Hop Stop” will add interest and variety. In addition, Boulevard has secured the right to use Royals trademarks throughout the team’s six-state television territory.

“We’ve enjoyed a long, close and mutually rewarding relationship with our hometown team” said Boulevard president Jeff Krum, “and we’re excited by the opportunity to elevate our partnership. We hope to create unique and memorable fan experiences, and look forward to a successful season, both on and off the field.”

The new five-year agreement was made possible through a cooperative arrangement between Boulevard and its local distributor, Central States Beverage Company. “This is a game changer for craft beer lovers” said Natalie Gershon, Boulevard’s vice president of marketing, “and we are thrilled to help lead the charge.”

Boulevard will celebrate the renewed partnership at a ticketed event to be held February 15 at the brewery’s new Tours & Recreation Center. For $10, guests will receive a commemorative glass and beer, and enjoy appearances from Royals alumni and other special guests. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Royals Charities, and can be purchased here: https://boulevardroyalsrally.eventbrite.com.
