In all of the excitement last week about EBK, we may have lost sight of the fact that we have a new Triple IPA in bottles: Now I Am Death, Destroyer of Worlds - Triple IPA
The latest salvo in our renewed focus on hop forward and aromatic beers, Death is firmly planted in the West Coast style of IPA's. In typical Adroit fashion, however, this beer is hard to pin down to an exact description.
The title is derived from the famous quote by J. Robert Oppenheimer. Death is designed to DESTROY your expectations. Brewed with over 10 pounds of hops per barrel, this delivers a citrus & tropical nose derived from copius amounts of Citra & Mosaic hops. Much more bitter than G/I/A/A, the malt body is primarily Marris Otter, and has a sweeter taste, with a semi-dry finish.
Part 2: The first taste exceeding all expectations. Your satisfaction is met with a bitter end. Destruction inevitable, death delivers your eternal rest. The march continues for another, your skull & bones are all that remains of a once indulgent life.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of orange, mango & lychee meld with malt sweetness. Assertive bitterness relaxes into a semi-dry finish.
