Two Roads Releasing Zero 2 Sixty Tart IPA Cans/Bottles & Igor’s Dream Returns

imageWe brought you a peek at this beer in Nov, and now the full details from Two Roads:

Two Roads is proud to announce the release of their newest seasonal, Zero 2 Sixty Tart IPA.

After much consumer acclaim for the pilot batch versions, this final variant of Zero 2 Sixty is an American style India Pale Ale brewed with comet, chinook and other hop varietals. It is then carefully kettle soured to achieve the desired tart finish.

Balance remains a fundamentally important element to Zero 2 Sixty, says Two Roads Master Brewer
Phil Markowski

"We ferment this with a mix of lactic acid producing bacteria & our house ale yeast," said Markowski. "The degree of souring has to be carefully monitored so that the tart flavors remain in balance with the fruit and herbal characteristics of the hops. Balance is the key!"

Zero 2 Sixty will be available starting in mid-January throughout Two Roads' distribution footprint which includes 10 states in the Northeastern United States and the United Kingdom. The beer will be available in 12 oz. six pack bottles, 12 oz. six pack cans, kegs and as part of our "Beer Bus" variety 12 pack.

Foods that pair well with Zero 2 Sixty Tart IPA are washed rind cheeses, light green salads and delicate fish dishes.

Igor's Dream Returns for a Fifth Year

Igor Day is January 28th

When Two Roads Brewing Company opened in late 2012, they knew they wanted to honor the legendary aviation pioneer and inventor of the modern helicopter, Igor Sikorsky.

Sikorsky helicopters are still being built in Two Roads' hometown of Stratford, CT to this day. To celebrate this history, Two Roads created a very special commemorative beer and named it “Igor’s Dream”—a Russian Imperial Stout which is an appropriate style given Igor Sikorsky’s Russian heritage.

And like Igor himself, who took the road less traveled when he arrived in America in 1919 and later invented the helicopter, Two Roads took the “Road Less Traveled” when making this beer. The recipe starts as a classic Russian Imperial Stout but veers off the beaten path by using a healthy dose of malted rye and then barrel-aging it in rye whiskey barrels.

This year marks the fifth annual release of Igor’s Dream in 750mL cork and cage bottles. Available only at the brewery on January 28; doors will open at 10 a.m. with bottle sales starting at noon. 900 bottles of 2017 Igor’s Dream aged in rye whiskey barrels will be sold at $20 per bottle.

This year, two new “copilots” will be joining the flight formation: 2017 Igor’s Dream aged in Gin barrels and 2017 Igor’s Dream aged in Armagnac barrels. Only 250 bottles of each variant are available for sale. Bottles of these two limited release versions will be $25 per bottle.

Lastly, a limited quantity of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Igor’s Dream vintages will be on sale, also at $25 per bottle.

While supplies last, patrons will be able to buy up to three bottles of the 2017 Rye Whiskey Igor’s Dream, one bottle each of the 2017 Gin and Armagnac Igor’s Dream and one bottle each of the vintage Igor’s Dream for a total of nine bottles max.

Igor Day isn’t just about the beer though; it’s about celebrating Stratford’s role in aviation history. The family of Igor Sikorsky will be on hand to autograph bottles and talk with customers. Two Roads Master Brewer Phil Markowski will also be signing bottles.

Draft of all three 2017 Igor’s Dream versions as well as select vintages of Igor’s Dream will be on tap in the brewery tasting room while supplies last. Two food trucks will be selling delicious food but feel free to bring your own fare.

Two Roads will also be hosting a sneak peek dessert and Igor pairing on January 23rd. See website for details:
