This fall, in its thirtieth year of operation, The Great American Beer Festival (GABF), held in Denver, CO, awarded 286 medals to 254 brewers chosen from 7,227 competition entries, the largest commercial beer competition in the world. CROWN Beverage Packaging North America, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com), was delighted to have 16 different craft brewer customers win a total of 23 GABF medals, including six gold medals.

The winners included Mother Earth Brewing, Fish Brewing, Ghostfish Brewing, Independence Brewing, Brewery Vivant, Neshaminy Creek, Grimm Brothers Brewing, Real Ale Brewing, NoDa Brewing, Kulshan Brewing, Black Tooth Brewing, Daredevil Brewing, Wachusett Brewing, Nebraska Brewing, Fatheads, and Devil’s Backbone Brewing.

“We are very proud of our craft partners for their success,” notes CROWN Beverage Packaging’s Regional Sales Manager for Craft Beer, Nick Osborne. “We have known the majority of our customers since they started breweries. We are excited for the great things to come.”

According to Ron Skotleski, Director of Marketing, North America, for CROWN Beverage Packaging, “The primary purpose of any packaging is to protect and conveniently deliver a product to the end consumer. These craft GABF medalists have tremendous products in our cans, and Crown’s goal is to help differentiate their best-in-class beer with high quality cans and innovative graphics.”

The Great American Beer Festival, held annually, invites industry professionals from around the world to sit together in small groups and, without knowing brand names, taste beers in each specified style category. The ultimate goal of the Great American Beer Festival Judge Panel is to identify the three beers that best represent each beer-style category as described and adopted by the Great American Beer Festival.
