GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO - 27 September  2016) - Today, North Coast Brewing Co. and MicroStar Logistics celebrate nearly 20 years of collaboration by announcing a long-term extension of their ongoing partnership. As a Certified B Corporation, North Coast strongly values the reduction in their greenhouse gas emissions achieved by using MicroStar's industry-leading pool of kegs.

"Nearly two decades ago we got in touch with this little company called MicroStar who wanted to help brewers collaborate by pooling kegs rather than each brewer owning their own," said Mark Ruedrich, North Coast's Co-Founder and President. "Little did either of us know the journey we had ahead of us and the positive impact we could have on the environment. In the process, we've enjoyed the other benefits MicroStar's unique business model delivers including fewer headaches, more efficiencies, and incredible flexibility compared to what we would have to deal with if we chose to go it alone."

"We're proud to support a company like North Coast, one of our very first customers, which not only brews some of our favorite beers, but is committed to making a broader impact on their community including their support of jazz,'" says MicroStar's President and CEO, Michael Hranicka. "Additionally, while many companies talk about a commitment to sustainability, it's rare to see companies act as true stewards of the environment. North Coast is one of those rare companies that back up their mission to 'Make the World a Better Place, One Pint at a Time' and helped inspire us to build sustainable practices into the core of our business."

By choosing MicroStar instead of owning their own kegs, North Coast and the community of ~500 MicroStar customers have collectively reduced their carbon footprint by over 3 million kg CO2e in the past 12 months alone, based on an analysis by Dr. John Heckman of thinkstep (formerly PE International), a leading sustainability consulting firm. That is equivalent to saving the amount of CO2e emitted by burning over 3 million pounds of coal.
