MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (April 26, 2016) -- FINNEGANS Brew Co. announced today the release of its new seasonal brew, Freckled Rooster. The limited release Bière Blanc is French-inspired while still embracing its Irish roots (after all, the freckle is the official symbol of an Irish person’s summer sun-kissed skin and the rooster is the national bird of France). Freckled Rooster will be available on draught at local establishments and in sampler packs at liquor stores in early May.
FINNEGANS’ Rambunctious Social Entrepreneur and CEO, Jacquie Berglund, explains why the Irish-in-spirit brand has adopted French flavors: "We wanted a patio staple, something that was really refreshing and uses super-premium, European ingredients. What I love is it’s got this floral fruitiness and spiciness to it, a slight complexity that makes summer more interesting.” With this new summer offering, FINNEGANS will trailblazer into the Bière Blanc category. Freckled Rooster is a pale and dry interpretation of a French Alsace-style ale but stands on its own as a
truly unique beer. This light-bodied brew has a spritz mouthfeel with a slightly spicy mid-palate and aromas of melon, stonefruit and Sauvignon blanc grapes.
Freckled Rooster is the second seasonal brew FINNEGANS offers after the autumn seasonal brew, Dead Irish Poet Extra Stout, and is in good company with the year-round flagship Irish Amber and recently-released Hoppy Shepherd. Three beers, (Freckled Rooster, Hoppy Shepherd and Amber Ale) will be available in a seasonal summer sampler pack and on draught in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. Inside every summer sampler pack there will be exclusive cocktail recipe cards for each brew, which were crafted by local mixologists.
