From AleSmith:

The birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, the bunnies are...well, we know what they're up to. Spring is in the air! Adding to the excitement of the season here at AleSmith is the arrival of two new beers.

  • 2016 Vintage Series Private Stock Ale: This year marks the arrival of our new Vintage Series - a quartet of beers released with the arrival of each new season. Each is a high-gravity beer perfectly suited for cellaring for many years to come. The first in the series is Private Stock Ale, an imperial English-style ale rich with flavors of dried fruits and complex dark sugar character. It's built to last 20 years or more, and its annual appearance via the Vintage Series will allow fans to enjoy the beer fresh and lay it down for enjoyment down the road as part of a vertical tasting! Look for it in 750-milliliter bottles starting in mid-to-late April.
  • Spring Bock: Packed with a plethora of biting Noble hops, this is our take on perhaps the world's most obscure variety of lager - a Dutch interpretation of a classic German bock. Well-balanced and extremely drinkable, its rich malt body is offset by mineral-like lager yeast character and poignant hop botanicals. This draft-only offering will be available in our Tasting Room and at select bars and restaurants where AleSmith beers are sold.

Our friends at Mikkeller Brewing San Diego are gearing up for an epic opening weekend that will kick-off with a beer festival featuring local breweries as well as some guests from out of town on Saturday, April 16 from 3 to 11 p.m. Make plans to see how they've revamped our original tasting room and check out their inaugural line-up of beers. We're super-proud of our creative partners and can't wait for you to see what they've been up to. And if you're an athletic-minded early-bird, join the Mikkeller Running Club for a 10K run starting at 10 a.m., followed by post-run beers and a brewery tour at 11 a.m. Or just sleep in and usher in this new era of San Diego craft brewing with beer, food and fun!
