For the first time ever, brewers are now able to watch their beer ferment in real time. With ParasitX’s proprietary device, the BeerBug, brewers can sit back and monitor their fermentation process without having to constantly take manual specific gravity measurements. The BeerBug provides live brewing data on a brew’s specific gravity, temperature, and alcohol content in more detail than ever before, allowing brewers to have better control of the process and final product.

“The BeerBug is incredibly easy to use and helps to elevate the quality and flavor of a brewer’s beer,” said Taylor McClenny, CTO of ParasitX. “The device is placed into the brewing vessel’s airlock before fermentation begins and immediately starts to take readings. Brewers receive updates as to when their wort has begun fermentation, allowing the brewer to ensure that the yeast has been activated and the brew is off to a successful start.”

The BeeBug remains in the vessel’s airlock monitoring levels until fermentation is finished. This feature eliminates the brewer’s risk of contaminating their brew while opening the vessel. Without the Beerbug, the brewer would have take manual gravity reading.

With the continual monitoring of the BeerBug, a brewer has a much better understanding of when their brew’s fermentation has completed. Data of this detail has never before been available to brewers. With continuous data, brewers are now able to be more involved in their fermentation and have better control over their brew. The BeerBug is available to all brewers at $199 through the BeerBug website.
