London, United Kingdom, Starting today, individual discerning beer lovers can join leading breweries to get involved in the development of the game by taking a stake through Kickstarter.
hiphops has been developed in collaboration with a range of breweries from six countries - including Bakewell’s world-renowned Thornbridge, with an overall aim to support the brewing industry. There is no charge for breweries to feature in the game, so they are encouraging their fans to back the project and help promote their brand on the global stage. It’s the perfect opportunity for enthusiasts of particular beers to promote their favourite pint on a global stage.
Launching with decks “Brews of the World”, “Hoppy Christmas” and the animal-themed “Yeastie Beasties”, Francis Madeira, the project’s London-based creator, said: “First and foremost I am a craft beer enthusiast and the game stemmed from this passion. I’m hoping that others like me will get involved with the game so that it becomes a talking point at festivals, in good pubs and in the general beer-enthusiast community.”
Breweries are planning to release their own expansion packs featuring all their beers so that fans can use them as menus in their taphouses.
The game has a fun and unique strategic gameplay that is only possible with these cards. Fast and easy to learn – and perfect for playing down the pub – hiphops is receiving plaudits from beer fans and breweries alike. Norway’s Nøgne Ø, one of the world’s most-respected craft breweries said: “Us beer geeks, we only have one reason to go out. With hiphops, now we have two.”
The project aims to be most-funded Kickstarter project ever by leveraging its unique #BEEROMETER. As more people back the campaign, beer is added to an unusually shaped Belgian ‘Kwak’ glass – this is then photographed in unexpected places and shared over social media. If enough people support the project, their are plans to release scratch-and-sniff cards that smell of different beers and an image-recognition app that will take the player to bonus content about the beer.
The game will be printed by Cartamundi, the world-leader in trading card production.
People can back the campaign from only £5/$8/€7.
Free delivery to 35 countries, including USA, Canada, EU, Australia & New Zealand.
