scratch 168 - pale ale featuring hop# 06277 nicknamed "Nuggetzilla" is on tap now.
- while in yakima walking the experimental hop fields we came across this gem..just in its second year of growth the bines were still young and small but the cones were sticky with oils...rubbing released pine resin, pineapple and hints of strawberry. It turns out Nugget (one of my favorites) was one of the parent varieties used for its natural resistance to pests. Hopping with #06277 alone helps us get to know its bittering, flavoring and aroma; and whoa I'm diggin this one.
I wanted the whole field...didn't get that much but did get enough for more trials...stay tuned
