Schubros Brewery Announces 2nd Anniversary Ale, Henry II & Sells Out Before Release

From Schubros:

Following Schubros Brewery’s announcement of their Henry II, Barley Wine, the brew sold out in under a week before the release date of June 27th. Schubros’ last Passport Series beer, Aalbeke Belgian Style Golden Strong sold out of bottles within four hours of being announced and quickly sold out of kegs much like Henry II. The Barley Wine Anniversary Ale is the newest addition to Schubros Brewery’s Passport Series, described by Schubros as the “Beer-connoisseur’s obsession and the Brew Master’s playground”. As the Brewery’s first Barley Wine, high expectations have been set and the countdown has begun for the first taste of the ale at the Henry II launch party on Friday, June 27th.
Henry II was named by Schubros Brewery’s Brew Master, Mike Johannsen, after his seven month old son, Henry. Choosing the name was simple, after previously naming Schubros’ Nico Wheat beer after Johannsen’s daughter, Nico. Naming two of the brewery’s beers after the Brew Master’s creations is a perfect reminder of Schubros’ family and community centric ideals, which they strive to embody in every way possible.
Henry II is a unique ale, with a dark amber body that speaks volumes towards its full bodied flavor. On the nose, notes of caramel, roasted grains, dried fruit and subtle noble hops will greet you senses. On the tongue, a rich mouthful takes over, one characterized by complex waves of malt, a cleansing bitterness, and a faint warming alcohol backbone. Barley Wine lovers will not be disappointed during their first tastes of the brew during the launch Friday.
Local brewpubs and restaurants jumped at the opportunity to reserve this specialty ale, looking to add an exciting spin to their tap selection. With the first batch of Henry II sold out, don’t miss the opportunity to try this unique ale at the Schubros Brewery taproom this Friday, June 27th, from 4-9pm at the exciting launch party! Visit the taproom for tastings of Henry II at 5 and 7pm. For more information about the launch party, please visitwww.schubrosbrewery.com.
