From Big Wood Brewery & Rexam:

CHICAGO, May 1, 2014  With summer fast approaching, Big Wood Brewery has added a fifth beer to its lineup of award-winning craft beers in Rexam 16 oz. cans. Amigo Grande features the tagline "Cerveza De Playa," which roughly translates into "Beer of the Beach."

Amigo Grande is a big and bold Mexican Style Lager with a south of the border style and five percent alcohol by volume (ABV). It joins Big Wood's Jack Savage American Pale Ale, Morning Wood Coffee Stout, Bark Bite India Pale Ale and Bad Axe Imperial IPA already being sold in cans.

"As consumers gear up for summer, we are pleased to launch another of our outstanding craft beer offerings in cans," said Jason Medvec, president, Big Wood Brewery. "Amigo Grande is the perfect wingman for any adventure in the summer sun when the living is easy and the lakes are calling. And continuing our partnership with Rexam, it is available in the ideal package."

Big Wood Brewery packages its beer in cans because they provide complete protection from light that helps preserve freshness, are light-weight and deliver durability and portability that are particularly useful for outdoor endeavors. The company also benefits from the fact that cans are the most sustainable beverage packaging choice in the world, as they are recycled at more than double the rate of any other beverage package.

Rich Grimley, president and CEO, Rexam BCNA, commented on this expansion for Big Wood. "Our cans continue to be the ideal packaging choice to bring Big Wood's unique craft beers to the masses," he said. "They enable the brand to attract attention on store shelves with colorful, reflective graphics while also securing beverage integrity by keeping out oxygen and light. With superior recycling, filling, distribution and retail display economics, cans make sense to help Big Wood continue to build its brand and business."

Having won numerous awards and accolades over the last few years, Big Wood Brewery beers in cans are currently available at bars, restaurants and retailers across Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
