From Kona Brewing:

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – October 1, 2013/mbb/ – After an extensive review of agencies, Kona Brewing Company selected Duncan/Channon as its advertising Agency of Record. The Duncan/Channon team was selected to lead all strategic branding and creative efforts with the goal of accelerating the growth of this pioneering craft beer brand from Hawaii.

"Building on more than a decade of robust sales, strong reviews and increasing awareness, in both Hawaii and the mainland, Kona is well-positioned to take advantage of the market shift toward craft beers,” said Robert Rentsch, Senior Director of Brand Marketing, at Kona Brewing.  “As we plan for the future, we wanted to find the right team that would not only bring the best creative and strategic approach, but would also truly understand the Kona brand and where it comes from. Duncan/Channon demonstrated a rich appreciation and understanding of Hawaii, along with a deep spirit of collaboration. We’re delighted to find such a strong partner and look forward to working closely with the team as we put our largest media investment to date behind this fast-growing brand.”

As agency of record, Duncan/Channon will help guide brand strategy and create national integrated marketing campaigns, including TV, digital, out-of-home and other traditional and non-traditional media. The first campaign will launch in second quarter, 2014.

Said Executive Creative Director Parker Channon: “Personally, with parents in the restaurant business in Hawaii, I couldn't be more excited about Kona Brewing Company, a brand I know well and enjoy often – albeit responsibly. Professionally, to be able help the great Hawaiian beer and spirit of aloha it represents reach a broader audience is no less an honor. And I think it's a perfect fit for Duncan/Channon, with our deep expertise in hospitality and branding.”
