With the fall season officially upon us we would like to invite all of our friends and family to come out and enjoy the changing foliage on the grounds of Grovedale Winery and the River Barge Brewing Company. Along with the grand opening of the brew pub we also offer a delectable selection of appetizers and sandwiches to pair with your wine or beer tastings. Since the official grand opening of the River Barge Brewing Company roughly one week ago we have had many new faces stop by to sample the beer and see what we have to offer. There have been a few frequently asked questions posed by our new guests that we would like to address now in order to let you all know a little more about how the River Barge Brewing Company came to be. First and foremost, the man responsible for making this fantastic beer (also known as a brew master) is Thor Trowbridge. His inspiration for moving from a home brew setting to that of a public business came when he was offered the unique business opportunity to combine with Grovedale Winery. This offer gave him the chance to expand his brewing potential, while also allowing him to share his passion with a wider audience. Thor was introduced to Jeff and Kim Homer, the owners of Grovedale Winery, through his handyman business, and the plans grew from there. The combination of Grovedale Winery and the River Barge Brewing Company offers visitors the opportunity to experience both a wine and beer tasting in one fun packed day! All of the beer produced by the company is made on the property, which gives our visitors a greater chance to run into the brew master and ask him questions about his process in person. Currently the Weigh Station Restaurant is the only outside business carrying River Barge products, but future plans include adding many more locations to this list!
