Columbus, OH, September 29, 2013/mbb/ -- In CrowdBrewed’s maiden soft launch, Pigskin Brewing Company out of Columbus, OH scores big reaching its target goal and beyond with $15,020 through reward crowdfunding. Slated for late fall of 2013, Pigskin will open its doors to a 17,000+ square foot building with a custom built, state of the art brewery and tap room housing its 15 barrel brewing system.

Pigskin Brewing Company turned to crowdfunding to source the funds necessary to complete the final stages of its brewery. Investopedia.com defines crowdfunding as “The use of small amounts of capital from a large number of individuals to finance a new business venture. Crowdfunding makes use of the easy accessibility of vast networks of friends, family and colleagues through social media websites.”

Craft beer brewers and industry affiliates are turning to crowdfunding to fulfill dreams of running a brewery, expanding a product line and bringing awareness to their brands. Pigskin has kicked off a phenomenon on CrowdBrewed as more and more campaigns begin to filter through. In addition to reward based crowdfunding, CrowdBrewed is set to offer equity and debt crowdfunding in the coming weeks as it transitions its vertical to a new platform. “By offering equity based crowdfunding as an alternative to bank financing and venture capital allows us at CrowdBrewed to offer fundraising opportunities to those at all stages within the craft beer arena,” says Travis Benoit, Founder of CrowdBrewed.com LLC. “In addition, crowdfunding offers the opportunity for craft beer enthusiasts to invest in or donate to their favorite brewery that would have otherwise been unavailable to them in the past via the more traditional route.”
