EAST HAVEN, CT - Overshores Brewing Co., Connecticut’s first and only brewery dedicated to making Belgian-style beers, announced today its plans to begin commercial production of its award-winning beer this summer.
Overshores, the first place winner at the 2012 CPTV Craft Beer and Chili Challenge, recently moved its brewing operations to East Haven and is in the process of building out the production facility. Overshores Brewing Co. will begin brewing and shipping its three signature beers — the Simpel, the Tripel Brun, and the Beliguque du Noire — in the second half of 2012.
“After several years of refining our product line and securing financing, we are thrilled to have moved to East Haven and begun the build-out of our production facility,” said Christian Amport, founder and president of Overshores Brewing Co. “Our Belgian style beer has received such a warm welcome in Connecticut and it is satisfying to know that in a few short months people will be able to purchase it directly from their local bar or liquor store.”
Connecticut beer connoisseurs have patiently awaited the retail debut of Overshores, ever since the company sampled its beers at the 2011 CPTV Craft Beer and Chili Challenge. In that year’s competition, Overshores emerged as the third place finisher in a field of over 70 breweries, including a number of true Belgian imports. Overshores returned to the event in 2012 and bested over 85 established breweries for the coveted first place prize.
