From Deschutes:
CLASS OF ’88 BARLEY WINE
When: April
What: Class of ’88 Collaboration Series (22-ounce bottles)
This first creation in the Class of ’88 Collaboration Series, a number of commemorative beers to celebrate the 25th anniversary of craft breweries around the country, was brewed by Deschutes Brewery, North Coast Brewing Company and Rogue Ales. The Class of ’88 Barley Wine was based on the guidelines published in renowned beer connoisseur Fred Eckhardt’s The Essentials of Beer Style, which was originally published in 1988. Each of the three breweries working on the project brewed their own interpretation of that original recipe, and they each used different hops and malts while following the same stylistic guidelines. Brewers teamed up at each brewery location to brew the beer and despite their common heritage, the three resulting barley wines will differ from one another. The launch event in Bend (below) will be the only time Deschutes Brewery will have all three beers to taste side by side.

TWILIGHT SUMMER ALE
When: May to September
What: Summer Seasonal (6-packs, 12-packs and draft)
When Twilight Summer Ale starts to show up on the shelves of your favorite store (or tap handles of your favorite bar), then you can be sure that summer is on the way. The vigorous, yet easy-drinking hop essence of this brew is as essential to the season as baseball, BBQs and the smell of freshly cut grass. Twilight Summer Ale’s crisp wafer-like body complements its clever medley of four hops and malts. Whole flower Amarillo, Northern Brewer, Cascade, Tettnang, and Brambling Cross hops sing next to subtle Cara-Pils and Carastan malts. Twilight Summer Ale is magic guaranteed to make the summer even more rewarding.

FRESH SQUEEZED IPA
When: May to September
What: Bond Street Series (22-ounce bottles and draft)
Like all of our Bond Street Series, this brew was formerly a pub-exclusive in our Bend and Portland locations. Our visitors loved this experimental brew so much, that we decided to bottle up its fresh-squeezed goodness for all to share. This Citra hop IPA is a “citrus bomb” in every way – flavor, aroma, you name it. Three types of malt, one type of bittering hop and a whole lot of Citra hops create a delicious offering.

BLACK BUTTE XXV
When: June
What: Reserve Series (22-ounce wax-dipped bottles and draft)
It’s our silver anniversary this year, and we’re celebrating 25 years in style. Every year, we make a huge double version of our flagship Black Butte Porter and our brewers tinker with the recipe with some complex ingredients in order to meaningfully commemorate what’s made the brewery great over the last couple decades: experimentation. Black Butte XXV is bourbon barrel aged and has some unique additions to ensure that this anniversary brew stands alone. Like all of our Reserve Series beers, we encourage you to drink one upon its release and put some away for later. Some things just get better with age!
