(Honeoye Falls, NY) – CB Brewing Company’s Cassie is the newest addition to the brewery’s Signature Series portfolio. CB Signature Series are limited edition beers that push the boundaries of creativity and Cassie is no exception. A Belgian-Style Black Currant Ale, Cassie is a showcase of premium ingredients and outstanding flavors.
Cassie was conceived from a chance interaction. Answering a random phone call to the brewery, their head brewer Bruce Lish was asked “Do you have any use for black currant juice?” His reply, “No, but I will find one”
In keeping with the tradition of centuries old European brewing, the company decided to blend the Cassis juice with a Belgian style wheat beer. The finest European Pilsner malt with malted and unmalted wheat form the base of Cassie. The subtle flavors of German hops build on the malt base. The final touch is added with the addition of cold pressed Cassis juice and wildflower honey, both sourced from local farms in Rochester, NY. This unfiltered beer has an abv. of 7.8%
The product will be available in draught and 22oz bottles April 5, 2013 in bars, restaurants and supermarket chains throughout WNY. Cassie will also be available at CB Brewing Company for growler fills. The business is located at 300 Village Square Blvd., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.
