From Ninkasi:

Ninkasi  Brewing Company announces the debut of its new Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout, available on shelves in 22oz. bottles starting in March and remaining on shelves year-round throughout the entire Ninkasi distribution footprint. As a new member of the Ninkasi Flagship Series, Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout will offer customers a tasty, more decadent alternative to the favored Oatis Oatmeal Stout.

“Aged on whole natural vanilla beans, Vanilla Oatis is a unique and delicious take on our traditional Oatmeal Stout,” explains Nikos Ridge, Ninkasi Brewing Company co-founder.

To create this brew, whole vanilla beans from Eugene’s Singing Dog Vanilla were added to the fermentation tank, essentially dry-hopping the beer with an intoxicating vanilla flavor.

Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout will take the place of its predecessor, Oatis Oatmeal Stout, as the newest Ninkasi offering available in 22oz. bottles. Oatis Oatmeal Stout will remain on draft and in 12oz. bottles but will only be found in 22oz. bottles in Ninkasi’s mixed 4-packs throughout the year.

Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout

Description: A delicious oatmeal stout with just enough hops to balance the copious quantities of dark roasted malts, oatmeal for a creamy smooth drinkability, and whole vanilla beans for a rich complexity. To achieve this higher level of decadence, we added in whole vanilla beans to the final stage of fermentation – the same process we use to dry hop a beer.

Tasting Notes: Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout is characterized by a roasted front flavor, smooth rich oats, a touch of chocolate flavor, and a rich vanilla complexity imparted by whole vanilla beans. It is bigger than a traditional stout with more alcohol, body and a touch more bitterness to keep it balanced.

Malt: 2-Row Pale, Chocolate, Crystal, Roasted Barley, Oats
Hops: Nugget
IBU: 50
ABV: 7.2
