Dogfish Head Gains Approval For Expansion

Great news for lovers of Dogfish Head beer as town planners in Milton DE have approved their expansion…allowing the brewery to reach 500,000 barrels of production (current production is 170,000 barrels and current maximum capacity is 200,000 barrels.  Details from DelawareOnline:


MILTON — The folks at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery have another reason to be thankful this holiday season, as town planners have given final approval to a 26,661-square-foot expansion to its existing facility. 

The expansion will allow to the brewery to go up to 500,000 barrels of production within the next 10 years. It will produce 171,000 barrels this year.

In addition, the commission approved the construction of a 9,994-square-foot wastewater building and an entrance plan for a previously approved warehouse. 

The 102,500-square-foot warehouse, located on Atlantic Street, east of Round Pole Branch, will allow the back end of the packaging and warehouse operations, as well as shipping and getting raw materials, to expand, Dogfish Head COO Nick Benz said.
