Breweries Bounce Back–Kirin Resumes After Earthquake & Biloxi Blonde After Katrina

Kirin Brewery announced today that their Sendai plant, damaged by last March’s earthquake has resumed production.

SENDAI (Kyodo) -- Kirin Brewery Co. said Wednesday it has resumed bottled beer production at its plant in Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, which was severely damaged by last March's earthquake and tsunami, meaning all items are now back in production at the plant.

However, the company decided not to restore some of its production lines for canned beer, as demand is expected to remain weak.  (Full Article)

When customers kept asking for Biloxi Blonde, the Beau Rivage collaborated with Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company in Hancock County to bring it back. (Full Article)
