New Belgium Brewing Delays Decision on East-Coast Brewery (Philly Still IN the Game)

Nothing terribly earth-shattering here, but the Coloradoan is reporting that New Belgium brewing will delay it’s decision on a location for it’s east-coast facility until at least march or April 2012….and they do confirm that it has NOTHING to di with Sierra Nevada’s recent decision to open in Mills River, NC.

Excerpts from the Coloradoan:
New Belgium Brewing Co. is looking to expand its production along the East Coast with a new facility. Simpson has confirmed they have narrowed the list of possible cities to four, including Asheville and Philadelphia, Pa., which were leaked by officials in those communities.

Originally New Belgium had planned to make an announcement by 2012 before pushing that to January or February. Simpson said now they are planning to make a decision by late March or April.

Simpson said the new timeline has nothing to do with Sierra Nevada, but rather is a matter of the brewery taking its time on a big commitment.
