For those of us who have been pairing up Rogue Chocolate Stout with Ice Cream & deserts for years, I guess this is no real shock, but what’s most shocking to me is that Beer Chocolate is somehow the “Latest candy innovation.” What I’m over-simplifying here is that it is apparently not easy to make chocolate out of beer. As it turns out beer has a propensity to burn when you heat it to the levels necessary to make candy, but no more. Candy makers have figured it out and we’ll now be able to have candy & chocolate made from Stouts & Lambics to IPA’s and everything in between.
