Kinzua Dam Beer - Fish Tale, General Joe & My Hearts Content (Warren, PA)

Here’s a new brewing venture starting up in Warren, PA called Kinzua Dam Beer (no website or Facebook page at this time).  This northwestern PA startup was started by Bill Core & his wife Sioux to bring fresh craft brewed beer to Warren County.  Bill is an avid home brewer and he’s now making the move to a larger ~2bbl system to be housed in the Warren Co business incubator center (Harmar St).  Today we have keg approvals for Fish Tale Scottish Ale, General Joe IPA & My Hearts Content Amber Ale.  As a bonus I have included the 12oz bottle label for My Hearts Content, however it is my understanding that bottles are well in the future so far for Kinzua Dam.

  2. I haven't seen it anywhere yet. I suspect most everything is brewery-only now if it's out at all.

  3. The Hearts Content is available at many bars in Warren, PA. I believe the Fish Tale is going to soon be available and there is no word on General Joe.

  4. The Hearts Content is available at many bars in Warren, PA. Try The Draft House, Ralphie's Pub, The Moose Club or Ribs and Bones. Fish Tale will soon be out Bill Cole, (your article says Bill Core by the way), was giving out sample bottles recently.

  7. The other week I was in Warren for a few days. Since I am a bit of a beer snob I decided to try the fish tail ale. Sorry to say it was a swing and a miss. Six of us tried it and all had the same reaction. The funniest comment was it tasting like licking the underside of the fish itself. I found it bitter, but not hoppy. It had an odd sweetness mixed into the flavour profile. I would be willing to try the other two if I get a chance, but the ale needs a serious rework.
