Art of Drinking Tröegs - Our Bottle Caps. Your Imagination.
Once again, it’s time to dig out those Tröegs bottle caps and make good use of them. The Art of Drinking Tröegs Bottle Cap Art Contest is underway. The rules for The Art of Drinking Tröegs bottle cap art contest are simple—make a piece of art incorporating Tröegs bottle caps.
To enter submit a picture of your bottle cap art with your name, address and phone number to Tröegs Brewery. Submission can be emailed to info@troegs.com or sent to The Art of Drinking Tröegs Contest, Tröegs Brewing Company, 800 Paxton St. Harrisburg, PA 17104. Submissions without contact information will not be valid.
The grand prize winner will receive a $500 cash prize, with runner-up prizes for finalists. Entries will be accepted until midnight on September 30, 2011. We will be announcing the grand prize winner at the opening of Tröegs Brewery – Hershey this fall.

T-2: Hershey Brewery Update
The construction phase for the new brewery is nearly complete. On a quick drive-by you can now see the main entrance of the brewery from the roadway on Hershey Park Drive. Equipment starts arriving in early July and we are still on schedule for a mid-fall opening. Check out regular updates on the project via the link on the Tröegs homepage at www.troegs.com.
The Return of Starsan
Starsan, the Tröegs Brewery band, is shaking off the cobwebs for a show at the Stage on Herr at HMAC on Friday, June 10. The Starsan Quartet will be joined by The Chill Haze Horns for a night of original tunes and deep covers focused around drinking songs (our favorite topic)!
We will tap a firkin at 8 p.m. and Starsan takes the stage at 9 p.m. Our good friends Up Pops the Devil will do an after-set (as their fans are younger and stay out later!) to close out the evening.
There is a $5 admission and doors open at 7 p.m. HMAC is located at 216 Herr Street in the midtown Harrisburg.
ISO: Tröegs Ticket and Classic Sunshine Pils Labels!
Starting this week an extremely limited number of Sunshine Pils cases will find their way into Greater Central Pennsylvania. The purchaser of these cases will have the opportunity to be one of the first people to see the new Tröegs Brewery in Hershey when we open in the fall 2011.
So how do you know if you bought the special case? There are no markings on the outside of the case but once you open it two things will make the case special – there will be an envelope taped to the lid of case containing a Troegs Ticket and every bottle in the case will adorn the original Sunshine Pils logo.
If you get one of these special cases, read the Tröegs Ticket, follow the directions and keep one of those special bottles, as you will need it, along with the ticket, to get a special behind-the-scenes tour of the brewery this fall from the Tröegs brothers.
Gift Shop and Tasting Room News
We’re putting the Scratch Series on hiatus for part of the summer since we need the fermenter space to keep up with year-round beers. We will try to tempt your taste buds with special kegs from time to time until the Scratch Beers return.
In Gift Shop news we have new Sunshine Pils t-shirt designs available. If you need that special gift for your four-legged friends, be sure to check out the Tröegs dog collar with handy bottle opener attached!
Finally, we just received a large shipment of work shirts, and we will be unveiling new logos and names for your enjoyment. Look for Tröegs Work Shirts at beer festivals and in the brewery Gift Shop for the $10 nice price.
Harrisburg Brewers Fest Update
The 8th Annual Harrisburg Brewers Fest takes place on
Saturday, June 18, with two sessions: 12-3:30 p.m. and 5-8:30 p.m.
Both sessions are COMPLETELY SOLD OUT.
For all who purchased tickets, they will be shipping in mid-May.
