mybeerbuzz.com–Macro Watch–ShockTop Raspberry Wheat NEW

image image

Yes I do like to follow along to see what new “craft” beers are coming out of the big boys like Anheuser-Busch, so today I present a NEW beer in their Shock-Top series called Raspberry Wheat.  I have a sneaking suspicion I know what this one will taste like (“Unfiltered Belgian-style wheat ale brewed with citrus peels, and coriander and with raspberry essence added”), but I was really interested in not only bringing it to you first here on mybeerbuzz.com BUT also interested in showing off the two labels.  Note that one is 5% ABV and one is “Not more than 3.2% by Weight.”  Huh?!

  1. One is for Utah and/or Texas or both. The other is for the rest of the States.

  3. Colorado is also a blue law state that only allows full strength beer to be sold in liquor stores. Anything sold in grocery/convenience is 3.2% by weight (not by volume) which, when converted to volume, comes out to 4.0%.

    Hope this helps,

  5. I just had the 5.0 tonight in FL and had to force myself to finish it, this almost never happens with beer, the Raspberry is way to fake tasting.

  6. How do you operate this beer website and NOT know what 3.2% beer is?
