I’m a big fan of Odell Brewing out of Fort Collins Colorado. Maybe it was their Bourbon Barrel Stout, maybe it was their St Lupulin, in any case they make a wonderful brew. I’m always excited to see a new beer hit the market, but this one has me really excited. Odell just received label approval for Avant Peche. Imagine if you can an Imperial Porter that is made up of 45% Ale with Peaches added, 19% Ale aged in Oak Barrels and 36% Classic Imperial Porter aged in Oak barrels with Colorado peaches & wild yeast. Bring it in at a whopping 9.5% ABV and I smell winner…especially if it’s bottled-conditioned in 750ml bottles….sign me up! To quote, “The blend marries a bold roasted chocolate malt flavor with a subtle peach essence, and the wild yeast creates slightly tart complexities.”
Sounds exceptional. Brewing a peach ipa tomorrow.
ReplyDeletecool...hope I get to try it ;)
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. What an indignity to do to a porter. Oh, the humanity!
