I posted about this a week or two ago, and since that time we’ve seen Four Loko products removed from the shelves of most of our local bottle shops and distributors. Despite that effort, Four Loko beverages licensed by “Drink Four Brewing Company—Phusion Products, LLC” out of La Crosse WI continues to package. Would it surprise anyone to know that the TTB has licensed 34 new Four Loco labels/flavors in the months of November alone….including the fun new Limited Green Apple flavor. Would it also surprise you to know there are label approvals that are for the “no caffeine added” versions as well? I’m not in favor of anyone telling people what they can and can’t drink…so this post is purely news.
As soon as I saw this in the market, I thought it was nothing but bad news, and so it has come to pass. This trend will peak hard (may already have) and decline hard, like so many others.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad our common bond as beer drinkers focuses on the craft and the flavor, not just the buzz, or we might all be drinking this s**t.
Cool! Much like the connection between malta and NYC, W-B seems like the perfect place to brew a mass market NY beer. Bet this will also be packaged in cans if it does well enough in glass.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam...although I think your 2nd comment was meant forthe Rheingold label. As much as our name may include the word buzz, it's always been about the taste and exprience of beer. CHeers
