Today the guys tasted a decidedly German beer from Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephaner…say that three times fast. Weihenstephaner is widely known as claiming to be the oldest brewery in Europe coming from Freising Bavaria and tracing it roots back to 1040 AD. Only the claims from Zatac Brewery in the Czech Republic that prove it paid a beer tax in 1004AD can counter that claim.
The beer of the day was a traditional light German fest beer. A German Marzen style with 5.8% ABV that Weihenstephaner brews year round and a beer that is widely available in the states. Cheers guys.
