It’s funny when you’re considered a “beer guy”, “beer geek” or even “beer expert.” People have all sorts of pre-conceived notions and sadly many of these notions assume some level of beer snobbery. Thankfully that’s not the case. To help reinforce that point I enter today’s beer as “Exhibit # 1.” I chose a beer for today’s show that is not only decidedly mainstream, but also a beer from a brewery owned by one of the big macro breweries, SAB-Miller. Now granted Leinie’s is brewed independently, but it’s still mainstream. And here’s my admission of the day. I chose this beer because I like it. So as I’ve always said…love what you drink and drink what you love…regardless of what anyone else may think about it.
We had fun with this summer beer today on the show and it’s always fun just saying “Leinenkugel’s.” Yes some people think it tastes like fruity pebbles mixed with beer, but I think this is a beer worth trying….and you may be surprised to find you like it too. Get yourself a frosty cold mug and a bottle of Leinie’s Sunset Wheat and let me know what you think.
Another fun show and tasty beer today.
I want to say t
hank you to John, Nancy, Joe & Bosco for yet another fun Friday.
The Friday Beerbuzz…bringing good beers and good people together.

Great show and 'll give the beeer a try. Actually my wife is demanding we try it out =]
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness I really learned a lot about beer today. Who knew? I've had a few odd beers that I just blamed on bad brewing and now I know better. I'll be checking dates now that you've armed me with this info. Maybe I'll even try a few new beers to test it out.

This beer is my guilty pleasure and now you've made it a lot less guilty. Thanks for featuring Sunset.

A+ and beer knowledge too. I'll be checking dates big time now. Why don't more people tell us about how their beers are dated.
ReplyDeleteI just called home and asked the wife to put a few frosty mugs in the freezer. Sunset Wheat is REALLY EASY to find locally too.

Fruity pebbles does not sound good in a beer.

Good show today but I've relly been enjoying your Facebook Beer on the beach photos all week. I'm very jealous. How did you get some of those beers and how did you drink them all together??
ReplyDeleteThank you. The beach beers came from various friends and places and I thank you all. We treat our beach week as something very special and it's near and dear to my beer-heart. We share some amazing beers but more importantly some great time together enjoying them. Even on vacation we're bringing good beers and good people together. Thanks everyone for reading and commenting.....
