Here’s something we discussed a few days, and although it is not a Lion Steg product, I thought it was interesting to see a Genesee version of Liebotschaner. Thanks to Jesskidden for the contribution and interesting details AND be sure to read the “apology!”

I guess other brewers wanted to be recognized as producing a "thing of great beauty," too!
ReplyDeleteYou'd think there would be all kinds of licensing, even back then for two breweries having the same name. I'd see it if the name was more generic like "Lager" but Liebotschaner seems pretty specific. I wonder which one was MORE of a thing of beauty?
ReplyDeleteI think genesee liebotschaner was gone before the stegmaier liebotschaner arrived.
ReplyDeleteThe Genny stuff does look much older. Still interesting that they'd both have a Lieb beer.
ReplyDeleteThe pledge part on the left does not open up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anon...should be fixed now.
