With the arrival of a few new exciting beers, I decided to head up to visit Charlie @ Plaza Beverage and re-supply our beer-basement. Here’s a little photo of the haul. From bottom to top we have the Sierra Nevada Wet Hop Harvest Ale, Bells Two-Hearted Ale, Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, and who could resist our local favorite, Stegmaier Porter in their new packaging. Charlie has several cases of the Sierra Nevada Wet Hop Harvest that just came in and no, despite previous reports, Troegs Mad Elf has not arrived yet. Stay tuned here for details on when it hits our area.
What's the batch number on the Two Hearted? I can't quite make it out.
ReplyDeleteI can check later if you need me to but the brew date was 8/17/2009. Let me know if you need the batch # or just the brew date.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I just picked up two cases of steg porter to take westward for friends, they are having problems getting it out in pittsburgh.
ReplyDeleteVery tasty beer and wonderful value too...hard to beat that. Now if we can get Lion to produce an IPA too ;)
ReplyDeleteI picked up a case of Bartel's Beer (Lion Brewery) 16 ounce returnables (new returnable boxes not as sturdy as the old decades old boxes) $11.43 - fresh- easy drinkin lager - my buddies at the Oktoberfest party are now fans. Unfortunately I am told the the returnables are going away - hopefully they will keep churning out Bartel's (and Gibbons for that matter) with a little marketing they could and should be local favorites -
ReplyDeleteI think Bartel's and Gibbons have been staples for many years...I don;t see them going anywhere as long as they continue to sell.
ReplyDeleteArent the Steg Gold Medal returnables going away?
ReplyDeleteThe Porter isn't in returnables...but we'll see on the Gold Medal; anon.
