I just checked and we’ve been doing the Lion Brewery label fun for over a month…so why not revisit our favorite professor. Today’s label is Bartel’s Porter…with reputation old.
I bet that was a SERIOUS beer. Wish I could have tried.
I wonder if the Lion has any of the old recipies from Bartels or stegmaier since they bought the companies you would think they would have gotten all of the recipies as well.
I'll bet many of the recipes survive today...I'm not sure how easy they would be to replicate with different equipment, but I'll bet the recipes are there.
Seems like that would be a good release series ala troegs scratch to do various old recipies. It would also play up the lions substantial history as one of the oldest breweries in the country.
