I'm still working to get Wegman's Wilkes-Barre on board so we can dedicate a full page just to Wegman's. In the mean time I have their full list of beers, so I thought I'd post that up. My thank you to Dave for helping out with the list:

Are beer sections like this common at all Wegmans?
ReplyDeleteNot all Wegman's have beer, and it's my understaing the selections are slightly different at each store. I'm sure there are a core group of common beers though.
ReplyDelete3 Lion Brewery Beers at the WB Wegmans?!? Lionshead, Pocono Pale Ale and Lager. No Steg Porter or Holiday Warmer? This is insane! Get some more local products there.
ReplyDeleteMan I got excited when I saw my name on that list, like I was finally getting some of the respect my hundred plus years of reputation old deserves, until I saw that horrible word "cooler" and that poser James next to it. Imposters!
ReplyDeleteThe professor says: "there is none better. I shall return!"
I'm not sure I'd call it "insane" but rather a really good start. I believe they had Holiday Warmer, and they also have quite a few good local/PA beers as well (Troegs, Appalachia, Victory, Weyerbacher...)....although I'd like to see Steg Porter also.
ReplyDeleteJames has apparently taken your soul and turned you into a cooler...I agree...the Prof shall return!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Hennepin's not listed. Then again I've always seen the shelf marker, but never the bottles themselves.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that list may be incomplete - which begs for some on site research. :)
I accept your offer to volunteer....please report back.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet if you (and your friends) go in and ask for Steg Porter, they'll stock it.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck, Professor!!
I'll have a Steamier Porter!
ReplyDeleteSkrep and Bil, take note that not only do they offer more than one Lion product, they actually offer ALL of the Lion products, just misspelled!
Hooray for the Lion!
OK, it's not ALL our beers but pretty damn close.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darel....sign me up for a Steg Porter too...
ReplyDeleteThe Southern Tier Seasonal so far is Krampus, and I don't see Sly Fox's Dunkel on the list.
ReplyDeleteThank you...
ReplyDelete316 beers??? That borders on outrageous. Does any other local outlet have that kind of selection? I'm pretty amazed. Keep on truckin', Wegmans.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure a few of our other member bottle/sixer shops also have that many beers, but it is a nice selection @ Wegmans and we are lucky to have more and more craft beer outlets.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Some places do come to mind as having equivalent or better beer selections, but they aren't always as close to home as one would like. The more outlets, the better the choice and the shorter the drive.
ReplyDeleteDo you really have another bottle shop (or more) with 316 fronts? Here in State College, we have few with half that many, and our Wegmans has about half as well. You guys got great take out in NEPA!
ReplyDeleteYes we have several that carry more than 300, and a few of our local beer bars that carry over 200 bottles also.
ReplyDelete*points to the mbb member list* Et voila!
ReplyDeleteAnd even more exciting to see there is enough demand in our market to support several large bottle/sixer shops.
