New Packaging for Lion Brewery Beers

We've been discussing some of the new beers coming from Lion, but I thought I'd pass on some new info. I have nothing to show at this time, but I thought my readers would be interested to know that Lion will be creating new packaging for Lionshead, Lionshead Light, Steg Amber (formerly known as Steg 150) and Steg Gold. Stay tuned for details and watch for the new packaging coming soon.

  1. The more things change the more they stay the same. Steg 150 replaced Stegmaier 1857 which seemed to change all the time since it was introduced. Will Steg Amber simply be a name change or a new beer (amber/red lager vs vienna lager)?

  2. I believe it is packaging only, however I'll let Leo comment on whether the recipe has been tweaked or the style changed.

  3. Glad to read they are not changing the stegmaier porter label as that is a classy one with the old factory on it.

  4. I've seen the new packaging, it looks good, and I believe it's just for the Stegmaier Amber, Stegmaier Gold. and both Lionsheads. I am a little confused about the "Stegmaier Gold" though. I don't know if this is a repackaging for the current Stegmaier Gold Medal, or a new product. If it's for Gold Medal, I'm already disappointed, because the factory scene label referenced by Anonymous for their porter is pretty much the same as the current Gold Medal label, which should definitely not be messed with!

  5. No change in the recipe, just new packaging.
