I had a feeling we were on a slightly downhill slide when today's show started with a close-up (really close-up) of Chip's St. Obnoxious shirt (available in XXXL and XXXXXL only!) See if you can spot Chip in the photo. From there we continued the roll downhill when the boys "twisted off" the cap of the beer of the week. This weeks beer was Labatt's Honey Lager. My cringing continued when the boys (and Ruthie) called it a "lighter" Dogfish Head Midas Touch....Ouch!OK so maybe I'm not crazy about Labatt's in general, and maybe I really like DFH beers, and yes I understand highlighting different beers (craft or macro) is a good thing...but in the words of the late Senator Llyod Bensten...I know Midas Touch, I've tasted many Midas Touch...and this is NO Midas Touch.
Anyway, enough ranting for now. I loved two quotes today and it was hard to pick a favorite. It would have been easier to go for the night before the start of summer being "Summer Eve", but my real favorite had to be that the macro breweries are "starting to realize people are starting to like a little flavor in their beer."
