Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Allagash Farm To Face

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Allagash Farm To FaceI love love love peaches.  There, I came clean and admitted it.  Put them in pie, put them in cobbler, put them in ice cream…or better yet…put them in beer and I’ll love it.  Peach beers are among some of my favorites and I always jump at the chance to try a new one.

Today we’re be sampling a peach-based beer from one of my absolute favorite northeast breweries….Allagash.  The beer is called Farm To Face and while it isn’t a “new” beer a 2017 “bumper crop” (9,000-pounds) of local peaches has allowed Allagash to push Farm To Face out to it’s entire distribution footprint.  This is good news for me because I have a cold one sitting here for me to sample, and really good news for you, since you are likely in Allagash Brewing’s distribution area.

Farm To Face is brewed as a pale ale, but then it gets better.  The beer is fermented for 10-months in stainless with house yeast, at which point the star of the show (PEACHES!---3-pounds per gallon from Applecrest Farm Orchards) are added along with Pediococcus and Lactobacillus.  The resulting beer is loaded with peach flavors…so off we go.

Farm To Face pours a rich amber color, and after taking in some of the aromas, you’ll want to get this beer in your face ASAP.  The aromas have some really pleasant peach and apricot up front and just a bit of tart apple in the mix as well.  Farm To Face is juicy and just bursting with fresh peach flavors.  It has a drinkable mouthfeel and a pleasant tart finish.  I wouldn’t call this beer at all sour (as the label indicates), but there were some really nice graham cracker mild funk flavors that complimented the peach flavors nicely and we really enjoyed the tart and sweet balance.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Allagash Farm To Face

Farm To Face is brewed with Northern Brewer and Glacier hops and the beer rolls in at 6.2%-AbV so it feels really juicy and drinkable.  Overall this beer has to be one of my top 10 peach beers, and believe me I’ve tasted a LOT of peach beers.  The beer is packaged in 375ml bottles and it will reach all 17-states (plus DC) in Allagash Brewing’s distribution area in early Aug so get out there and try Farm To Face.  And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
