Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities Peach Cobbler AleAs soon as you put the word “peach” in a beer name, I’m usually on board…but after making a “baked goods” bet on a football game with my niece…AND choosing Peach Cobbler as my winning choice…today’s beer was quite a surprise.  If you haven’t guessed already, today’s beer has both “peach” and “cobbler” in the title… so off we go.

Today we’re getting a really early peek at a new Brewhouse Rarities release making the leap to bottles from Flying Dog.  The beer is called Peach Cobbler Ale and it is an ale brewed with peach, vanilla beans and spices.

This beer was pitched by tasting room manager Kristin to the tune of “Ice Ice Baby” and it is brewed with Carabrown, Victory and Biscuit malts as well as Perle hops and Chico yeast.  The beer pours a rich golden color with lots of peach and cinnamon in the nose.  There was a sweetness in the aroma that I couldn’t put my finger on, but I really liked it.  The beer leans gently into some pleasing peach flavors, with a nice balanced punch of cinnamon.  The vanilla flavors sneak in late with just a touch of nutmeg.  In the end we really enjoyed the balance of peach and vanilla and the clean slightly hoppy finish.  I love peach cobbler and this beer really does the classic dessert some justice.  At 5.9%-AbV and 20 IBU, I think this is a really drinkable and balanced beer and I only wish I had another one to enjoy tomorrow night.

Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities Peach Cobbler Ale is available now in 12oz bottles so get out there and try it for yourself.  And when you do, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
