Firestone Walker Adding NEW Scotch Parabola / Dark & Stormy

Firestone Walker Adding NEW Scotch Parabola

Here’s a nice way to say “good morning” on a Saturday morning.  This is a new version of Parabola coming to bottles from Firestone Walker Brewing in Paso Robles, CA.  You’re looking at the bottle packaging for Scotch Parabola 2017 and it is an imperial stout aged in Scotch Whiskey barrels.  This Proprietor's Vintage beer will hit 11.5%-AbV and 70 IBU and it will be package din a limited run of 600 cases of 12oz bottles (as well as kegs).  Stay tuned here for release details and here’s the commercial description for the base beer courtesy of Firestone Walker:

Parabola is a beer of darkness and immensity, a barrel-aged beast that is routinely ranked as one of the top beers in the world.  This Russian imperial oatmeal stout is aged for a full year in  Heaven Hill barrels, developing flavors of rich, chewy roasted malts, charred oak and bourbony vanilla. Parabola bares its teeth with its impenetrable black hue and soaring alcohol, yet its bite remains refined with a silky, balanced finish.

[Editor’s note]:  The original Russian imperial stout was 14%-AbV and 69 IBU.

As a bonus we’ve added in the keg packaging for Dark & Stormy ale aged in Rum barrels (13.6%-AbV).image
