NEW YORK, NY July 31, 2017 - Michelob ULTRA, the superior light beer that champions living an active and balanced lifestyle, announced today that it will award 95 runners entries for the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon to create Team ULTRA. Michelob ULTRA isn't just providing these entries to anyone though. The brand is inviting runners everywhere to visit www.JoinTeamULTRA.com to share stories of how they've gone the extra mile – and why they are deserving of a shot at running 26.2 miles through the streets of the greatest city in the world.

While thousands of this year's runners secured a race entry through the annual drawing in March, many still await the opportunity to be among the 50,000 that cross the TCS New York City Marathon finish line each year, making a spot on Team ULTRA a coveted prize for any runner. As the 2017 marathon training season heads into full swing, Team ULTRA represents one of the few remaining opportunities for those interested in running the TCS New York City Marathon on November 5, 2017 to gain entry.

"Michelob ULTRA has been there at the finish line to support runners all year, and we're excited to continue our commitment to the running world through our partnership with the TCS New York City Marathon," said Azania Andrews, vice president, Michelob ULTRA. "For the formation of Team ULTRA, we're looking for people who embody the spirit of our brand – the pursuit of an active, balanced lifestyle and a desire to always go the extra mile. Marathons bring out the best in people, and we want to help tell their inspiring stories."

To bring these stories to life and encourage consumers to join the team, Michelob ULTRA unveiled an original video that spotlights some of the inspiring stories of runners who will be a part of Team ULTRA. People like Tracey McGee of New Jersey, who ran a marathon in 2016 with a broken hip but still finished the race, and now wants a chance to show what she can do when running a full marathon healthy. Or Bryan Brinson of Georgia, who has yet to run a New York City Marathon, and will run this year in honor of his son who recently passed away.

"We're thrilled to again partner with Michelob ULTRA for the world's largest marathon, the TCS New York City Marathon," said Sarah Cummins, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at New York Road Runners. "Each of our 50,000 participants has a unique personal connection to running and a story to tell. We look forward to welcoming Team ULTRA's extraordinary runners to this year's race and hearing their inspiring stories."

With just 95 calories and 2.6 carbs, Michelob ULTRA is a superior light beer for those with an active lifestyle – from marathon training to everyday fitness. To continue celebrating active, balanced lifestyles, Michelob ULTRA recently renewed its partnership with New York Road Runners. From the very first training runs to the triumph of the finish line, Michelob ULTRA will be there every step of the way to honor the hard work and extreme dedication of all Team ULTRA runners.
