The Bruery Adding The Bruery Store At Union Market In Washington, DC

August 16 , 2017 -- Orange County, CA--- Fans have travelled far and wide for experimental and barrel-aged beers from The Bruery since the independent craft brewery opened its doors in Orange County in 2008. From homebrewing roots and an unassuming corner unit in a business complex that housed the company’s first brewhouse and Tasting Room, the company has methodically grown its footprint and capabilities. This includes the buildout of three distinct brands - The Bruery, Bruery Terreux and Offshoot Beer Co. - in addition to state-of-the-art enhancements in brewing and production, expansion into new markets and opening a second Tasting Room at the sour & wild Bruery Terreux facility.

The company has a reputation for pushing boundaries, such as creating a new category for bourbon barrel-aged imperial stouts, one that hovers around 20% ABV, and Society membership programs for fans to connect with their favorite breweries on an even deeper level. But there is one thing that the company has never been bold enough to attempt: establishing a brick-and-mortar presence east of the Mississippi. That is, until now.

This fall, The Bruery is branching out and bringing beer directly to the East Coast by opening a premier retail store that’s within driving distance for thousands of fans of independent craft beer. Located in the heart of one of Washington, D.C.’s most exciting urban villages, The Bruery Store at Union Market District will provide easy access for Society members to pickup online purchases, along with onsite bottle and can sales, rotating taps for growler fills, merchandise and gifts for the general public.

“The Bruery Store at Union Market District provides a central location for fans along the East Coast to get their hands on all three of our brands under one roof,” said founder and CEO, Patrick Rue. “We’re incredibly excited to put down roots for our first retail store outside of California in the nation’s capital. Such an expansion wouldn’t be possible without the support from our fans across the country.”

Beer from The Bruery & Bruery Terreux is distributed in nearly 30 states, including Washington, D.C. Cans from Offshoot Beer Co. are released in limited supply and sold directly from the brewery. Special can releases and rotating taps for growler fills from Offshoot Beer Co. are in sight for the Washington, D.C., location.

“Washington, D.C., and the surrounding area boasts a vibrant culture and appetite for specialty beer,” said Rue. “We’re looking forward to joining the independent craft beer community in Washington, D.C., connecting fans with our beer and being even closer to them with our physical presence on the East Coast.”

Rue noted that a number of members in the company’s Hoarders Society, Reserve Society and Preservation Society live in and around the area, and certainly within driving distance, making it easier than ever for them to pick up online bottle purchases of the most limited and exclusive releases from The Bruery & Bruery Terreux at the D.C. store.

“We’ll be opening up Society memberships this fall for new members to join us for the 2018 Society year,” added Rue.
